I am a Colombian-Australian designer and researcher based in Amsterdam, working on AI systems that open futures rather than foreclose them. I work from a queer mestiza perspective. My PhD at TU Delft’s DCODE Network (2021–2026), a Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie project, reorients design towards co-predictive relations: recoding simulations and digital twins from prediction, which pronounces the future, to co-performance, which opens it.

I am co-founder and Head of Design and Research at Parallel Studio, a practice working across design research, complex systems and human–AI relations, treating relational living and computational systems as a design material. Parallel builds instruments that let institutions see and work on those relations directly. The first is Pask, whose design and research I lead.

I co-head Monstrous Futurities: Practices in (Un)learning, (Un)making, and (Un)worlding, a two-year temporary Master’s programme at the Sandberg Instituut, which began in September 2025 and runs with Romany Dear. The programme takes monstrous imaginaries and their subversive potential as a way of holding onto hope and futurity while living in uncertainty. With Romany I built a living curriculum that cycles back through students’ own lived experience, read alongside transfeminist, queer, crip and post-human theory.

For all the theoretical vocabulary, most of this work happens in real-world settings. Sounding Territorios (2024) was a residency at Fundación Organizmo in Tenjo, Colombia, a sonic model. Unimaginable Red (2023), a video game developed with Imagination of Things and supported by the Stimuleringsfonds, grew out of co-creation with communities living and working in Amsterdam’s Red Light District. Las Erres (2022), made with Becoming for Telefónica Foundation’s The Great Imagination: Stories of the Future in Madrid, imagined a shopping centre repurposed for planetary well-being in a degrown 2050. The Indigenous Protocols and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (2021), developed with Old Ways New in Sydney, connects Indigenous artists, academics and technologists to co-produce AI protocols grounded in caring for Country and Kin.

Formerly Design Futures & Insight Lead at Deloitte Digital (AU–NL, 2015–2021), I led research programmes helping ASX 100/200 clients and government institutions run participatory, civic-oriented strategic, service and product design. I co-founded Australia’s first queer womxn-led makerspace in 2014. I presented “Queering human–AI co-predictive relations” at the On the Seam symposium, run by the University of Applied Arts Vienna with Futuress, and have spoken at PRIMER Festival and TEDx Sydney. Recent writing appears in AI & SOCIETY, the DRS2026 proceedings and VOLUME (forthcoming).
